Azerbaijan’s tea import exceeds export by sevenfold

Baku. 25 February. REPORT.AZ/ In January 2019, Azerbaijan exported 107,900 tonnes of tea worth $600,000, respectively up 51,300 tonnes or 90.5% and $288,750 or 77.8% from the previous year, Report informs citing State Customs Committee.

At the same time, Azerbaijan imported 708,800 tonnes of tea worth $2.455 million, respectively down 360,600 tonnes or 33.7% and $1.7 million or 40.9% in comparison to a year earlier.

Tea export made up 0.05% of total export, tea import amounted to 0.2% of total iport of the country. The import exceeded the export by 6.6-fold.
