Azerbaijan's grape imports from India soar in 1H2024

Azerbaijan imported 69 tons of fresh grapes worth $72,500 in the first six months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period in 2023, the imports increased by 53 percent in volume and 59 percent in value.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 20.2 tons (+2.5 times) of grapes from Chile worth $20,200 (+2 times), 14.71 tons (+57.5%) from the Republic of South Africa worth $17,100 (+83%), 15.3 tons (+5%) from Peru worth $15,400 (+5%), 14.2 tons (+4.3 times) from India worth $14,500 (+4.4 times), and 3.95 tons (-37%) from Türkiye worth $4,420 (-30%).
In 2023, Azerbaijan bought a total of 372 tons of grapes from 11 countries, 77 percent of which came from Iran.
