Azerbaijan needs to more actively implement technologies that allow for the economical use of water in agriculture, Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli said at the IV Forum on Agribusiness Development in Baku, Report informs.
He noted that climate change leads to an increase in temperature and, as a result, an increase in demand for water resources.
"By 2030, the demand for water may increase by 16% due to heat alone. Agricultural policy should focus on water-saving solutions and the cultivation of drought-resistant crops," Bashirli said.
