Azerbaijan resumes turkey meat imports from Canada

In the first eight months of this year, 1,423 tons of frozen turkey meat worth $1.812 million were imported to Azerbaijan.

According to Report’s calculations based on the data of the State Statistics Committee, this is 13% more in value terms than in the same period last year, and 27% less in quantitative terms.

During the reporting period, the country imported 262.25 tons (+4 times) for $679,510 (+4.7 times) from Russia, 403.48 tons (+81%) for $363,310 (+72%) from Brazil, 252.72 tons (+69%) for $300,170 (+71%) from Portugal, 230.54 tons for $163,880 from Canada, 105.25 tons (no supplies were made last year) for $103,220 from Germany.

After one year and four months, Azerbaijan resumed turkey imports from Canada this year.

Some 63% of the 3,100 tons of frozen turkey meat brought to Azerbaijan from 14 countries last year were purchased from Turkiye.
