Azerbaijan resumes avocado imports from two countries

In January-July 2023, Azerbaijan imported 261.1 tons of avocados (fresh or dried) worth $792,100, up 21% and 43%, respectively, from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 93 tons (+2.3 times) of avocados worth $281,000 (+2.3) from Kenya, 59.7 tons (+88%) worth $206,000 (+2.1 times) from Peru, 33.12 tons (-13%) worth $101,840 (-11%) from South Africa, 47.4 tons (-38%) worth $71,100 from Türkiye (-39%), 6.38 tons (-11.6%) worth $49,500 (+14%) from Luxembourg.
Azerbaijan resumed avocado imports from Brazil (380 kg worth $1,890) after ten years and four months, and from Mozambique (700 kg worth $3,500) after four years and four months.
Some 51% of the 392 tons of avocados brought to Azerbaijan from 14 countries last year were purchased from Türkiye, 15.4% from Kenya, and 12% from Peru.
