Azerbaijan reduces expenditures on milk imports

In 2021, Azerbaijan imported 11,190 tons of milk, 1,533 tons (15.8%) more than in 2020, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
Last year, Azerbaijan spent $14.743 million on milk imports, $569 million (3.7%) less than in 2020.
In 2021, Azerbaijan reduced its expenditures on milk imports by 16.9%.
In 2020, Azerbaijan imported 9,657 tons of milk for $15.312 million. In 2020, the average price of 1 ton of milk was $1.585 million, and in 2021, it dropped to $1.317 million.
Azerbaijan’s milk production in 2021 increased by 1.4% compared to 2020 and amounted to 2,223,400 tons.
