Azerbaijan increases wheat imports from main supply market

Azerbaijan imported 743,237 tons of wheat (except for seeds) worth $261.475 million during the first nine months of this year.
According to Report’s calculations based on the data of the State Statistics Committee, this is 45% more in value terms and 8.4% more in quantitative terms than in the same period last year.
During the reporting period, 582,306 tons (-12.7%) for $206.564 million were delivered from Russia (17.3% more than a year ago), and 160,931 tons (+12 times) for $54.91 million (+8.9 times) were imported from Kazakhstan.
In September, Azerbaijan bought wheat mainly from Russia. The volume of supplies from this country this month increased by 53% compared to the previous eight months.
Some 95.3% of 1.148 million tons of wheat imported by Azerbaijan last year from six countries fell to Russia.
