In January-September 2019, 2,418,300 foreigners traveled to Azerbaijan from 191 countries, up 9.5% from the previous year, Report informs citing the State Statistical Committee (SSC).
According to the SSC, 30% of visitors traveled from Russia, 22% from Georgia, 9.7% from Turkey, 8.2% from Iran, 3.9% from Saudi Arabia, 2.1% from UAE, 1.9% from India, 1.8% from each of Iraq and Ukraine, 1.6% from Turkmenistan, 1.5% from each of Israel and Kazakhstan, 1.4% from Pakistan, 1.12% from Great Britain, 11.3% from other countries. Among the visitors, 65.9% was men, 34.1% were women.
The number of tourists from Turkmenistan increased by 96%, from India – by 70.1%, Egypt – 66.3%, China – 63.7%, Saudi Arabia – 42%, Philippines – by 39.4%, Hungary – by 34.8%, Poland – by 32%, Malaysia – by 27.3%, Great Britain – by 27%, Spain – by 26.7%, South Korea – by 22.4%, Georgia – by 24.6% and Germany – by 21.6%.
The number of tourists from EU increased by 24% to 110,300 people, from CIS countries – by 8.3% to 880,900 people.
