Tourist flow from Azerbaijan jumps 35%

In January 2024, the number of Azerbaijani citizens who traveled abroad increased by 35.1% compared to the same period last year and reached 147,700 people, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the Committee, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who went to Russia, Georgia, Türkiye, and Iran increased by 37%, 36.9%, 29.3%, and 23%, respectively.
Some 36.6% of the country's citizens visited Türkiye, 22% - the Russian Federation, 10.6% - Georgia, 8.2% - Iran, and 22.6% - other countries. 67.7% of those were men, and 32.3% were women.
Among the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who visited foreign countries, 69.1% used air transport, 28.8% used railways and cars, and 2.1% used sea transport.
