Tourism conditions to be eased: international system of vaccinations is in the pipeline

"Currently, one of the biggest problems of the tourism sector is the introduction of PCR test while entering and leaving a country," Report informs, citing Ruslan Guliyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan Health and Thermal Tourism Support Association.

According to him, this is one of the reasons that really aggravates the conditions of tour packages, and we are working on it. “According to my information, an international system (portal) for vaccines, especially for Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines, will be created, and Azerbaijan is expected to join this portal.”

Ruslan Guliyev believes that by entering their information into the portal, all tourists will have their vaccines automatically recognized in other countries and thus the process will be facilitated.

Currently, the results of the COVID-19 test must be valid within 72 hours before the flight.

The share of tourism in the economy is 2.4%, in employment - 1.7%. It is planned to increase the number of foreign tourists to 4 million, the number of local tourists to 5 million, and its share in GDP to 4 billion manats.
