The Eurasian Mountain Resorts Festival will be held at Shahdag Mountain Resort of Azerbaijan in March 2025, Report informs via Interfax.
The event was earlier hosted by Rosa Khutor Alpine Resort in Russia's Krasnodar Krai. Shahdag was announced as the host during the Tourism on the Silk Road exhibition held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Sergey Khvorostyanoy, Deputy General Director for International Relations at Rosa Khutor, noted that the festival program in Shahdag will include free skiing and snowboarding masterclasses from the best instructors of the Eurasian Mountain Resorts Alliance (EMRA), a gastronomic festival, folklore performances, educational events for mountain resort staff, and professional discussions. According to him, special attention will be paid to a strategic session on mountain tourism development in Azerbaijan and Caucasus countries.
During the exhibition, EMRA representatives summarized the results of their first year and a half of work. Among the key achievements are the creation of an innovative IT services platform, implementation of unified tourism service quality standards, launch of a corporate university, and development of an Interstate Tourist Route based on regional mountain clusters.
The exhibition is organized by EMRA, which unites resorts from Azerbaijan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and South Korea.
