Tbilisi. 3 October. REPORT.AZ/ 1,094,847 people travelled from Azerbaijan to Georgia in January-September, up 107,209 people or 10.9% by contrast to a year earlier, head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration Giorgi Chogovadze said at press conference on October 3, Report informs.
Azerbaijan follows Russia (1,109,706 people). The third country is Armenia with 956,076 travelers.
In the reporting period, 6,788,377 foreigners visited Georgia, up 11.2% in comparison to a year earlier. Of this, 3,772,102 were tourists, which are 568,398 people or 17.7% more than previous year.
In September, 892,463 foreigners (+5%) visited Georgia, of which 536,302 were tourists, up 9.1% compared to 2017.
The number of travelers from Azerbaijan to Georgia last month made up 138,790 people, up 9.8% in comparison to a year earlier.
