The first destinations to open would be Yogyakarta, on the island of Java, as well as the Riau islands province.
According to the Indonesian National Organization for Tours and Travel (ASITA), 80 percent of Bali people rely on tourism, whether directly or indirectly.
In March, foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia plummeted more than 60 percent compared to March 2019, and Chinese arrivals dropped by 97 percent.
