Azerbaijan sees 135% increase in number of incoming Chinese tourists

In January-June of 2024, 16,609 tourists from China visited Azerbaijan, which means a 135% increase year-on-year, the head of the Tourism Policy and Strategy Department of Azerbaijan's State Tourism Agency, Mahammad Muradov, said at the SCO Demonstration Zone - Logistics and Trade Promotion Conference in Azerbaijan, Report informs.
Muradov noted that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to tourism cooperation with the Far East: “Unilaterally applying aone-year visa-free regime for Chinese citizens is also a great support for the development of cooperation in this field. We are always ready to contribute to the development of tourism between the two countries. We will continue our active participation in relevant exhibitions.”
