A permanent tourism office of Azerbaijan may be opened soon in Ankara or Istanbul, Advisor to the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency Kanan Guluzade said.
Guluzade made the statement while representing Azerbaijan at the Eastern Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (EMITT 2022), one of the world's largest tourism exhibitions in Istanbul.
"We exhibit our traditional tourism products here, as well as introduce the emerging tourism opportunities in our liberated lands, which are considered a new tourist destination, and the Turkish market is a priority market for Azerbaijan. Taking into account the statistics of Turkish tourists' visits, they are in the top 3 in Azerbaijan. Even during the pandemic, we received more tourists from Turkey than from other countries. We have already held several official meetings here. We are interested in marketing in other regions of Turkey, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and in the south-east and north-east of Turkey. In addition, we are preparing a serious action plan to promote tourism opportunities of Nakhchivan, especially in Turkey. Azerbaijan may open a permanent tourism office in Ankara or Istanbul in the near future," he noted.
