Aktau named ECO Tourism Capital for 2030

The city of Aktau in Kazakhstan has been selected as the Tourism Capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) for 2030, Report informs, citing a statement by the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan.

The relevant decision was made at the 7th meeting of tourism ministers of ECO member countries in the city of Shusha.

"Tourism ministers and delegations of member states participated in the meeting organized within the framework of Shusha – ECO Tourism Capital 2026. As one of the main outcomes of the event, the Shusha Declaration was adopted, defining future priorities for cooperation in the field of tourism among member countries," the statement noted.

The city of Aktau had been put forward as the sole candidate for being declared the ECO Tourism Capital for 2030.
