International Children Hotline launched in Azerbaijan

A presentation of the International Children Hotline will also be held today at the conference dedicated to World Mental Health Day, Report informs citing Director of the Azerbaijan Children Hotline service Kamala Ashumova.

According to her, the only Children Hotline of the European Telecommunication Network (116-111) started operating in Azerbaijan last week: "The telephone service is active. Every year, the hotline receives 2,500-3,500 calls. According to statistical data as of October this year, the number of received calls was 3,460. As technical conditions change, technologies are upgraded, and awareness is increased the hotline service receives more calls.

According to Ashumova, the appeals are mainly related to socially dangerous situations, children subjected to psychological violence, neglect, etc.
