The Netflix platform plans to release more than 25 Korean-language series, shows, and movies in 2022, Report informs citing TASS that this is a record number of original South Korean projects for the streaming service.

"Netflix will release more than 25 Korean films this year, looking to continue the success of Korean storytelling. We will provide exclusive creative stories and high quality that meet the demands of viewers," Netflix said in a statement.

In 2021, Netflix users could watch 20 new Korean-language video products. Among them are the popular series The Squid Game, The Call of Hell, and Sea of Tranquility. The Squid Game has gone down in history as the most successful Netflix show ever. In the first four weeks after the release on September 17, viewers spent more than 1.65 billion hours watching this series. The film tells about a secret survival game in which people, whose lives have come to a standstill, risk their lives to get a huge cash prize.
