Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russian troops had killed 14,000 Ukrainians over the past eight years.
According to Report, in his traditional video message, Zelensky said Russia's war against Ukraine started not on February 24, 2022, but in 2014.
"They occupied Crimea and turned the peninsula into a large military base. They turned the Black and Azov Seas into one of the most dangerous water territories. Russia has terminated the Ukrainians in Donbas for already eight years. Since 2014, the Russian troops have killed 14,000 of our citizens," President Zelensky said.
According to the head of state, Russia decided to unleash this war because the world had not shown the proper reaction to these events for eight years.
