Zelensky: Russia uses hunger as weapon

Russia uses hunger as a weapon, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Irish Parliament, Report informs via UNIAN.

"Russia is besieging all our seaports with our ships loaded with agricultural products for export. Why do they do it? Because they view hunger as a weapon used against ordinary people. They use it as a tool to show their superiority," Zelensky stressed.

He noted that Ukraine is one of the leading countries in the world food market.

"If we do not export, dozens of countries in Africa and Asia will face the threat of famine. Due to the shortage of food, prices are rising," he added.

Zelensky stressed that millions of people in North Africa and Asia have difficulty feeding their families.

Ireland supported Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
