US Ambassador: Putin should understand that Russia will face the same things as Iran did

Washington values Azerbaijan's contribution to the support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Earle Litzenberger told a briefing.

Report quotes the diplomat as saying that the United States also supports Ukraine. He called on everyone not to turn a blind eye to Russia's aggression.

Litzenberger noted that the applied sanctions should damage Russia's economy.

Putin should realize that Russia will face the same things as Iran did, the ambassador said.

He noted that Russia's actions in Ukraine are a serious challenge for all countries in the region.
