Two Azerbaijani citizens, Rashad Asgarov, born in 1984, and his friend Khayyam Garashov, born in 1974, have gone missing in Ukraine, Rashad Asgarov's brother, Ruslan Asgarov said.
Report's Eastern European bureau quotes him as saying the two men traveled to Ukraine on February 26 this year. They had been in regular contact until March 6, after which all communication was lost.
The family has contacted Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, but there has been no result yet.
Rashad Asgarov had lived in Ukraine for nearly 20 years, having moved there after completing his university studies in 2003. He worked as a sports coach in Kyiv and was a former world No. 2 in judo. When the war started in Ukraine, he returned to Azerbaijan with his family but had gone back to Kyiv to sell personal vehicles that were left behind.
