Turkiye tightens checks of tourist residence permit applications

Turkiye has tightened checks on applications from foreigners for a tourist residence permit, Report informs referring to local media.

No residence card is issued without proof of staying in the country as a traveler.

Foreigners arriving in Turkiye in order to receive education, reunite with their families, conduct scientific research, start a business, or who own real estate must apply for the appropriate type of residence permit. The application is accompanied by the necessary documents, after a successful check, the foreigner receives a card.

A tourist residence permit is not allowed for those foreigners who arrive in Turkiye for the first time and apply, but do not have evidence that he or she is a tourist. In this regard, he or she is required to apply for the appropriate residence permit, after which an assessment is made of whether the candidate meets the necessary conditions.
