Turkish, Latvian Defense Ministers discuss security of Azerbaijan

"We discussed security issues related to Azerbaijan, Ukraine, and Georgia," Latvian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Artis Pabriks said during a meeting with Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar.
Addressing Hulusi Akar as a 'friend', Pabriks described Turkey as a very reliable NATO ally.
The Latvian minister also noted that Turkey had taken important steps in the field of the defense industry:
"In this sense, we consider cooperation with Turkey necessary. I believe that Turkey is a perfect candidate for the European Union. This is my personal opinion, and I know I will not change it."
Artis Pabriks also stressed that he was looking forward to Akar in Latvia.
