Stoltenberg: In 2022, Russian army was second most powerful in the world, and now it is second in Ukraine

Last year, Russia had the second most powerful army in the world, and now it is the second most powerful in Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said at a joint meeting of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), Report informs.

He said Ukraine is “slowly gaining ground” in its counteroffensive despite difficult fighting: “This is heavy fighting, difficult fighting but they have been able to breach the defensive lines of the Russian forces. And they are moving forward.”
