Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Talant Mamytov resigned, Report informs via Sputnik-Kyrgyzstan.
Mamytov said that on September 22, when the events on the border with Tajikistan were discussed behind closed doors, he decided to write a statement and leave for Batken.
"I myself made the decision [to resign]. The reason is a recent event in the parliament - all interested deputies went to Batken. This issue became known to the media. Then I wanted to immediately write a statement and go to Batken, but at the deputies' request, I temporarily transferred powers to the vice speaker. Today I made a decision. I am resigning of my own accord," said Mamytov.
