Russia supports resuming work of trilateral commission with Azerbaijan and Armenia to unblock communications

If Yerevan's official position on the issue of unblocking transport communications in the South Caucasus, agreed upon by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, has changed, this remains the sovereign right of the country. However, it would be correct if Armenia officially announced this appropriately.

As Report informs, this was stated at today's briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

According to her, the Russian side believes that the earliest possible restoration of full-fledged interaction in the aforementioned format will not only contribute to the modernization of the transport and logistics system of the South Caucasus and its integration into large-scale cargo transportation between Europe and Asia, but will also become an important factor in the socio-economic development of both Armenia and the entire region.

Zakharova also recalled that the "destructive influence of Western countries" is hindering the full implementation of the agreements of the leaders of the three countries.
