The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Russia increased by 180,456 per day.
Report informs citing the Operational Headquarters that the increase in the COVID-19 incidence over the week occurred in 74 regions of the country.
The incidence rate of a new coronavirus infection over the past week per 100,000 people was 907.64, an increase of 18.8% compared to the previous week.
"The increase in the incidence occurred in 74 subjects of the Russian Federation, including an increase more than the national average in 33 regions," the report says.
At the same time, the spread of the omicron coronavirus strain is recorded in 84 regions of Russia.
During the day, 10,451 people with COVID-19 were hospitalized, which is 17.4% less. Meanwhile, 683 people succumbed to the deadly pathogen. Some 97,185 people have recovered after COVID-19, a drop of 4.3% from the day before.
