Putin says Russian economy is stable

Russian President Vladimir Putin assessed the situation in the country's economy as stable, Report informs.
In an interview with Russia-1 TV, Putin emphasized that the obtained results are not only better than the forecasts of Russia's rivals, but also better than the expectations of the country's leadership.
"Overall, our situation is not only stable, but I think it is pretty satisfactory," he said.
Putin emphasized that one of the main macroeconomic indicators in Russia - unemployment is at a historical minimum level.
"Inflation is lower than expected and, importantly, on a downward trend. I believe that according to the results of the first quarter of this year, it may descend to 5 percent from today's 11.9 percent. This is a very important indicator for ensuring a decent standard of living for people and ensuring their real income," he added.
