President of Turkmenistan engages in cooperative discussions with ECO Secretary General

Sardar Berdimuhamedov, the President of Turkmenistan, recently held talks with Khosrov Noziri, the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, Report informs, referring to Neutralny Turkmenistan Newspaper.

A key focus of their dialogue was the energy sector, where Turkmenistan’s substantial natural gas reserves were highlighted.

President Berdimuhamedov expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness to expand its gas supply routes, targeting ECO member states as potential consumers and transit nations.

According to Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan is ready to significantly diversify its supply to consumers, including transit countries among the ECO members.

He further invited the ECO to actively participate in capitalizing on Turkmenistan’s strategic location by utilizing international transport corridors such as the North-South and East-West routes.

The discussions also recognized the vast potential for ECO member countries to forge strong, mutually advantageous partnerships. This potential spans several domains, notably trade and economics, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, environmental initiatives, and tourism.

President Berdimuhamedov underscored Turkmenistan’s commitment to fostering productive collaboration within the ECO framework by pursuing shared projects and programs.
