President of Turkmenistan appoints new prosecutor of Ashgabat

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed a new prosecutor of Ashgabat during a regular meeting of the State Security Council, Report informs via TASS.

In early February, Berdimuhamedov dismissed the prosecutor of the capital, Ovezmammed Shikhmammedov, because he did not fulfill his official duties as required and made fundamental shortcomings in his work.

During the meeting of the Security Council, the head of Turkmenistan also heard a report from the country’s Prosecutor General Begmurat Muhamedov, who reported on the results of January 2023, information on the progress of introducing advanced technologies and modernizing the material and technical base of subordinate structures. Berdimuhamedov, after hearing the report, addressed the prosecutor with several specific instructions, including on training personnel for the department.
