If Armenia no longer sees the need to remain in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Yerevan is free to make the decision to withdraw, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists, Report informs via Russian media outlets.
"I find it difficult to understand the phrase 'I would be glad if expelled.' If Yerevan, from the perspective of its national interests, no longer requires membership in such an important organization for ensuring regional security, then it is free to make the appropriate decision and leave," Peskov stated.
His remarks came after Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said earlier today that he would welcome a decision to expel Armenia from the CSTO.
