Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that Armenia’s integration into Azerbaijan’s logistics routes will have a positive effect on relations between the United States and Russia.
According to Report, speaking during a press conference, Pashinyan recalled that Armenia had no rail connection with Russia for 30 years, and now Yerevan will also gain access to Central Asia, while China will have a route into the region.
He noted that Armenia’s railways are under the control of the Russian Federation, and Russia may be interested in investing in the restoration of the Ijevan–Hrazdan and Ijevan–Gazakh railway lines.
“Of course, Azerbaijan’s consent will also be necessary,” the prime minister said.
According to him, Armenia will also gain rail access to Iran, which it did not have before, and China will acquire a new route to the East.
“This could become a good opportunity for economic cooperation between Russia and the United States,” Pashinyan stated.
