Armenian citizens are leaving their countries en masse.
According to the European bureau of Report, the number of Armenian citizens seeking asylum in Germany has increased in the last three months.
In April, May, and June, 470 Armenian citizens applied for refugee status in the Federal Republic of Germany. The main reason for their asylum claims is the situation in Armenia after the Second Karabakh War.
In June 2021, the German migration authorities received a total of 10,282 initial asylum applications. Only 2,565 of them have been granted refugee status under the Geneva Convention.
