The Turkish government has evacuated nearly 4,000 residents from four provinces affected by forest fires over the past week, the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) posted on the X, Report informs.

AFAD reported that 131 agricultural and forest fires have occurred in the country within the last week. Immediate measures were implemented both from the air and on the ground as part of the Disaster Response Plan. In areas where the fires are under control, damage assessment and related measures are ongoing.

To prevent potential human casualties, residents living near the fires were evacuated to safe areas by AFAD, police, and gendarmerie forces.

Specifically, 1,430 people were evacuated in Izmir, 1,475 in Manisa, 516 in Bolu, and 550 in Aydin.
