The volume of cargo transported via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) has seen a significant surge, Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said in his article, Report's Kazakhstan bureau informs.
"Thanks to ongoing transport infrastructure modernization, transit flow along the TITR has increased sixfold since 2019, reaching 4.5 million tons in 2024. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s product exports have risen twelvefold," Bektenov stated.
The article also mentions that the construction of a new highway—Astana-Arkalyk-Turgay-Irgiz—will further enhance the route's efficiency.
Additionally, Bektenov reported that maritime transportation along the TITR has grown by 20% over the past six years.
