Kazakhstan’s COVID-19 cases increase to 840

The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic was confirmed to have reached Kazakhstan on 13 March 2020. It involved two Kazakh citizens in Almaty who recently returned from Germany. That same day, two more cases were confirmed with one female arriving from Italy in Nur-Sultan and the other from Germany in Almaty as well.

On 15 March, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev declared a state of emergency from 16 March to 15 April 2020. the authorities canceled several holidays such as Nowruz and the Victory Day military parade.

The total number of coronavirus cases has reached 840 in Kazakhstan, Report says, citing RT.

According to the Health Ministry of the country, 28 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the country.

Earlier, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that the country should be extended a state of emergency in the country due to COVID-19 till the end of April.
