Iran tests improved Karrar drone

Iran has tested an improved version of the Karrar combat drone as part of its air defense modernization program. Now the previously successfully tested UAV is equipped with the short-range air-to-air missile Majid, the Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the Air Defense Forces, Brigadier General of the Iranian Army, Mohammad Khoshghalb, said in an interview with the ISNA agency, Report informs.
“The Karrar first entered service with our army more than ten years ago,” he noted. “We managed to improve its tactical and technical characteristics, increase its armament compared to earlier models. Speed, flight range, maximum altitude have been increased. Karrar is now capable of carrying air-to-air missiles.
Before modernization, the drone had a flight range of 1,000 km, a speed of 900 km/h, a load capacity of 500 kg and a ceiling of 7.5-12 km.
