Investigative Committee of Armenia: Serviceman shot himself in head with machine gun

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has called suicide a preliminary version of the death of conscript Alex Avanesyan, Report informs referring to Sputnik-Armenia.

Earlier, the Armenian Ministry of Defense reported the death of a serviceman in one of the military units as a result of a gunshot wound.

The Investigative Committee’s report states that on September 12, the military police received a message that on the same day at about 19:50, the body of private Alex Avanesyan was found in the territory adjacent to the firing position of one of the military units in the northeastern direction with a gunshot wound to the head. An RPK machine gun attached to him was found nearby.

According to preliminary data, suicide occurred. A criminal case has been initiated under the article “inducing a serviceman to commit suicide through negligence,” and the details of the incident are being clarified.
