The government has made every effort to hold the parliamentary elections in the fall, despite the threat of coronavirus, said the Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia.
“The country is actively fighting against COVID-19 and has fully mobilized to beat the coronavirus, restore the economy and hold the upcoming elections in a peaceful environment,” he said.
“The opposition is trying to take advantage of the crisis for its narrow political interests,” the PM stressed with regret.
Georgia has scheduled the parliamentary elections for October 31.
