Georgia launches multinational military exercise Agile Spirit 2025

The multinational military exercise Agile Spirit 2025 has officially commenced in Georgia, marking the 12th time the country has hosted the high-profile training, Report informs via Georgian Public Broadcasting (GPB).

The opening ceremony was held at the NATO–Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) in Krtsanisi.

The exercise is co-led by Brigadier General Koba Grigolia, Commander of the Georgian Defense Forces’ Western Command, and Colonel William Cox of the Georgia (US) National Guard.

The opening event was attended by representatives of the Georgian Defense Forces, NATO Liaison Office, NATO-Georgia Substantial Package (SNGP) core team, US Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC), EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM), and defense attachés accredited to Georgia.

Agile Spirit 2025 is being conducted in both Georgia and Türkiye, reflecting growing regional cooperation. The exercise began on July 21 near Türkiye’s Adana Province with a joint US-Turkish airborne operation.

In total, military personnel from 11 countries, including Georgia, the United States, and Türkiye, are participating, along with two multinational battalions. Observers from two other states are also monitoring the drills.

The exercise aims to enhance combat readiness, improve interoperability, and strengthen operational capabilities among allied and partner forces.
