Georgia: Coronavirus cases reach 420

Four more people have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus in Georgia, taking the total number to 420 as of April 23.

A total of 107 have recovered from the illness while five others died, Report informs citing the official website of the Georgian government.

The country has placed up 5,223 people under quarantine, 584 under stationary control.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.

To date, COVID-19 cases have reached 2,639,721 globally, resulting in 722,387 recoveries and 184,280 deaths.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
