Gasoline price in Iran doubled

The Iranian government has doubled the price of gasoline under the third tariff, raising it from 50,000 rials (0.036) to 100,000 rials ($0.073) per liter.

According to Report, the Iranian state television and radio company IRIB announced this on September 8.

At the same time, prices under the first two categories have not changed and remain at 15,000 rials ($0.011) and 30,000 rials ($0.022) per liter, respectively. The price increase applies to the third tariff group, which is used once all limits on the fuel card have been exhausted.

Previously, under this tariff, one liter of gasoline was sold for 50,000 rials.
