The airplane of Russia's Azimuth Airlines made the first flight from Moscow to Tbilisi after Russia lifted the ban on direct air communication between the countries. This is the first direct flight from Russia to Georgia after four years, Report informs via Sputnik Georgia.
Meanwhile, protests against the resumption of direct flights between the two countries are taking place near the Tbilisi airport, while the West imposes more and more sanctions against the Russian Federation due to the conflict in Ukraine.
In this regard, the Georgian Foreign Ministry has strengthened security measures in the territory near the airport.
