EU, Türkiye to mull visa facilitation in autumn

The issue of simplifying the visa regime with Türkiye will be discussed in autumn, Report informs referring to IHA citing a high-ranking source in the EU.

"We cannot predict the outcome of these discussions. Türkiye continues to be a candidate country and a major partner in many areas of mutual interest," he said.

Assessing the short-term steps in Türkiye's EU membership process, the EU official noted that a report on EU-Türkiye relations, which will be presented to the Council in order to move forward based on the instruments and options identified by the European Council, will also be discussed in autumn.
