Erdogan, von der Leyen discuss Türkiye -EU relations

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen had a telephone conversation, Report informs via Anadolu Agency.

During the conversation, the parties discussed relations between Türkiye and the EU.

Ursula von der Leyen congratulated President Erdogan on his re-election. The Turkish leader said that the way to successfully combat the challenges at the regional level is to strengthen EU cooperation with Türkiye.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted that the EU's fair treatment of Türkiye and support for the prospect of full membership will open up new horizons in relations.
