Detained Istanbul mayor to remain in custody for four days

Detained Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu will remain in police custody for four days, Report informs via Turkish media.
"Ekrem Imamoglu and those who were detained with him will remain in police custody for four days," CNN Turk noted, citing sources.
The Prosecutor General's Office has brought charges against him and more than 100 other individuals for corruption, bribery, and collaboration with terrorists. Security measures have been strengthened on several central streets of Istanbul, particularly in front of the Main Police Department building.
The dollar exchange rate against the Turkish lira earlier on March 19 jumped by more than 10% against this background, rising above 41 liras for the first time.
The main index of the Istanbul Stock Exchange BIST 100 fell by 6.87% at the opening amid reports of Imamoglu's detention.
