Deputy PM of Italy: EU Foreign Ministers in Kyiv to discuss restoration of Ukraine

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Italy Antonio Tajani said in an interview with the La Stampa newspaper that the foreign ministers of the EU countries will meet in Kyiv, where they will also discuss the restoration of Ukraine, Report informs via TASS.

“This will be one of the central themes of the mission. We must provide the country with economic stability, and Italy will move in this direction both within the framework of the upcoming G7 presidency and as the host country of the international reconstruction conference in 2025. We have already begun work on restoring the cathedral in Odesa, and in Kyiv, I will sign an agreement between Italy and Ukraine on assistance in restoring the destroyed architectural heritage,” he said.

Earlier, the head of the EU foreign policy service, Josep Borrell, said at a press conference in Kyiv that an informal meeting of the EU Council at the level of foreign ministers in the capital of Ukraine will be held on October 2. Until now, the press service of the EU Council has not announced any informal meetings for October 2. Visits of all Western officials to Ukraine are carried out without prior announcement of their dates for security reasons.
