Ukraine's Defense Minister sacked

Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) has decided to dismiss Defense Minister Andriy Taran.
Report informs, citing RIA Novosti, that 341 deputies voted in favor of the decision.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already nominated Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Reznikov to replace Taran as defense minister.
According to the Ukrainian Constitution, the president nominates candidates for the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense to the Parliament. The legislature has the power to dismiss those ministers.
Andriy Taran was appointed Minister of Defense of Ukraine in March 2020.
