Armenian reserve soldier dies during military exercise

Armenian reserve sergeant, Mkrtich Hovakimyan, born in 1978, received a fatal gunshot wound at a military outpost located in a southeasterly direction of Armenia, the Armenian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
Report informs, citing Armenian media, that, according to preliminary data, the incident happened due to the violation of the rules of organization of military service.
According to the information, an investigation is underway to establish the circumstances behind this incident.
Armenia is holding three-month military training from August 25 to retrain and raise the skills of the military in reserve. Reserve soldiers continue the training at combat positions from September 10.
